The Urban Missionariesยย Association of Canada (UMAC) is a group of men and women devoted exclusively to recruiting, training and deploying urban missionaries (volunteer, part-time, full-time) in Canada and around the world. UMAC members are committed to create movements of outreach and disciple-making.
The members come from a variety of churches. UMAC itself has no organizational connections with any one church, denomination or organization. As part of the Body of Christ it has a unique specialization to offer other members of the Body.
Every one of the Association’ยยs members is committed to role modeling outreach to Outsiders. The objective of the Outreach is to connect with people who are responding to what God is doing in their lives, to share as much as possible of the Good News with them, and to expect God to continue working in their lives.
The Association’ยยs members provide training to empower men and women to achieve mastery in outreach to Outsiders. This outreach complements and contributes to the ministry of local congregations.
The outreach strategy promoted by the Association is ‘ยยtarget area saturation evangelism.’? The ‘ยยtarget area’ย? is a residential community that can be visited annually. ‘ยยSaturation’ย? indicates the intention of reaching Every Home Every Year (EHEY) in that community. This offers people residing in the target area multiple opportunities to hear and respond to the Good News.
New Believers are provided with materials to help them grow spiritually, offered the opportunity to connect with a mentor, and provided with referrals to a local congregation; Acts 6:2-6. Believers who have dropped out of church are encouraged to reconnect with God and with the Family.
