About the author:

I am a photographer who has been collecting vintage photos from private individuals for the past 15 years. Iโ€™m the author of 3 historical photography books of Edmonton – Edmonton Then and Now, Edmonton Lost and Found, Edmonton memories.

I began taking photographs of Edmonton around 1975, but I did not start taking photos seriously until the late 1990s when I could see Edmonton was changing dramatically. Eventually, I started taking images of Alberta.

It was about 2008 when I began selling my photographs in various markets and at the same time acquiring vintage negatives and slides.

Out of this came a desire to learn more about the history of these places, leading me to eventually publish three books of historic Edmonton photographs. This book is the culmination of these endeavours.

My purpose in making this book is not only to share old photographs but also to educate its readers about the history of this province in a manner that you may find interesting. To that end, I hope I will have succeeded.
