While reading through The Message translation of the Bible a few years back, I came across the story of Hannah and her desperate situation. She went to the Temple to pour out her heart to God. When the priest realized she was sincere, he came into agreement with her for her prayer to be answered. It was the next sentence that jumped off the page as I read: And God began to make arrangements according to what she had asked.
I began to see that God had made arrangements for me throughout my whole life, even when I wasn’t aware of it. I can easily trace the finger of God on numerous occasions in impossible situations. As I shared some of these experiences with others, it never ceased to amaze me how God used them to inspire others and deposit hope in the life of someone whose situation looked hopeless.
As a result, my eyes were opened to the needs of those around me and I gained an intense longing to share the good news with others. Everywhere I went, I found the wounded and hurting. It was exciting to speak a word of encouragement that helped get people back on their feet and reach out in faith to God and see Him make arrangements on their behalf! This book contains only a small portion of the many miracles in our lives.
My prayer is that it will ignite a spark in the reader that will kindle a fire for God in their lives.
