God Loves Abused Women Too, written by Dr. Norma Barnett, is a powerful eye opening book that I recommend lay people as well as pastors read. It gave me a lot of insight into my own abusive experiences and has allowed me to know reality from fantasy. The book has given me hope to realize that I have worth, and that I don’t have to wait for someone else to move me to another level in life. I love the scripture affirmation and I go back and re-read them and replay them in my mind when I don’t feel so good. This book has been a revelation for me. – Jody Russell Written at a level that an ordinary person or professional can understand this book should be implanted in the church world. The church leaders want to pretend that abuse is actually not there, and this is an eye-opening book to all. This book allows you to gain insight into what is actually happening in the church and is a reputable counseling tool for others in the field. – Teresa Dick RSW counselor Dr. Norma brings out the real parts in life that a lot of Christian saints are dealing with but many churches don’t deal with as it’s not a topic that is spoken about. She lets us know what really is happening within us. When you are in this situation – really in the situation – and need help as I have, reading this book brings back many memories but it’s all good because she shows me what I have been through and now I know where and who to go to for help. What I mean is the root of the problem is where you have to start so that it is gone forever. Dr. Norma is real when she talks about abused women. She knows what she is talking about and the reason I say that is because you cannot hit someone’s direct problem unless it reached within and beyond to that person. The abuse in today’s society is so real and its something that should not be covered but UNCOVERED. This is what Dr. Norma is really aiming at.
