Dearest Readers,

Isn’t your head the craziest thing? It makes your whole body carry out all the tasks that it needs to perform to, you know, keep you alive and stuff: heartbeats, breathing, moving, shoving food into your face, checking your email. But the really neat part about your bodily apex is its ability to make the outside world seem beautiful, frightening, unfair or unimportant—all at the same time, and sometimes with only the slightest shift in hormone or brain cell. What is happening up there? While there are thousand of scientific studies dedicated to this questions and it variations, none of them really get at the real point:

Your brain is a beautiful mystery, and to think of it as such makes it infinitely more interesting and spectacular.

Here at HEADSPACES HQ, we get it. We conduct our own quasi-scientific and heart-led surveys on matters of the cranium: illegibly scribbling down mostly-recalled dreams after being shocked awake at three in the morning; faithfully keeping a pen and notepad in our back pockets during eye-opening trips through the Magic Garden; remaining honest with ourselves about the feelings we have while left alone at night and in strange times of unexpected sadness, desperation, or power. These sparkle-eyed investigations are committed to paper via pen and ink into what we can only hope to be somewhat accurate visual depictions of what our brains are telling us.
