It was a gut punch! This wasnโt happening! What were Illegal Numbers anyway? How could our basketball team not be allowed on the court for our first ever tournament?
A team of outlierโs hoop dreams wonโt be denied. A basketball rules handbook from New York, the arrival of an awkward rookie teacher from 3,000 miles away, and 10 Alberta prairie Junior High boys discover the sport was not what they thought.
Young readers and anyone who has ever cheered for an underdog will connect with this 1960s era small town team that takes on all unexpected setbacks.
Inspired by a true event and re-inspired in this work of fiction.
