The Clock Tower takes the reader through the entire circus experience, from the journey to the grounds, a description of the parade, a thorough exploration of the side-show, meandering through the menagerie, and eventually to the big top itself. In Part One: The Detectives, the girls get separated, and each has her own adventure on the grounds before they re-unite and solve the mystery of the chess-player.
In Part Two, the kids go and see the big show, and you need a ticket to get into the big show.
