Kathleen Guthrie was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, in 1926. She has published two other children’s books: The Boy Who Discovered Christmas, with cover artwork done by her granddaughter Bonnie Wright, B.Des., and The Sign. She has also written a book for grownups called CHINA—1989.
