Centered on the premise that, if you don’t like what you see in society, you should get up and do something about it, Augustine Marah muses on his early personal commitment to making a significant difference in society.
He strongly believes that every human being can contribute in making the world a better place to live, no matter how small that impact may be. The three sections of this book approach this idea in notably different ways, for different types of readers: prose articles originally written for publication in various newspapers and magazines, a collection of inspirational poetry, and a series of children’s stories derived from traditional African oral tales.
Prior to migrating to Canada, Mr. Marah was awarded Commonwealth and French Scholarships to study abroad. He also holds diplomas and certificates from Milton Margai Teachers’ College in Sierra Leon, lUniversite du Benin in Lome, Togo (West Africa), and l’Universite de Dijon, in France. After completing his Master’s degree at the U of A and a few years of teaching in the public school system, Mr. Marah obtained his Alberta Permanent Teacher’s Certificate. He is a passionate and enthusiastic educator, who is also a translator and author of newspaper and magazine articles.
