Trouble Never Set Like Rainย by Maxine Elaine James is collection of anecdotes and situations in which people bounced back, or walked through what life dished out. They have been collected throughout Maxine’s life experiences in Jamaica before coming to Canada in the ’80s. Her desire is that these stories will encourage others to get a longer term view of their struggles and push through.
Trouble comes, and sometimes you see the clouds gathering and can take shelter. At other times it catches you off guard. Always, though, trouble does pass just like the rain clouds.
The stories blend humor, laughter, fear and disgust. They lead through innocence, kindness, ignorance and learning. As one writer suggested, “We should learn from other’s mistakes; we will not live long enough to make them all for ourselves.”
