I lie down in the grass,
but it feels like I’m not here.
It feels as though I am
a million miles away.
I am a living mirage — living as proof
that shadows can,
in fact,
take a human form.
The clouds segment themselves
with cookie-cutter perfection.
I am not here.
I am living in the stars
a million miles away.
