Andy was born in Trinidad West Indies in 1936, he got married in 1960 and migrated to Edmonton Alberta in 1962 where he attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and graduated in 1968 from an evening program in Civil Engineering Technology. Andy applied to and obtained membership from the Alberta Society of Engineering Technology.
After working in the engineering field as a technologist with various companies and eventually spending nineteen years with the Alberta Government, he retired in 1997. His first wife Lenora died in 1994, and their two adult children, Roxanne and Annamaria, reside in Edmonton, along with their other siblings Andre, Rosita, Angela and Anthony.
Andy continues to keep himself busy doing small drafting jobs, but mostly travels extensively with his wife, Myrna.
