Glen Carlson attended Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and was ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. He did congregational ministry in Northern Alberta from 1965 to 2002 year. He was the founder and Executive Director of the Chimo Youth Retreat Center, Edmonton, Alberta (a ministry for street youth) for 7 years. In 1977 he had the experience of the “infilling of the Holy Spirit.” This led him in a new direction of ministry and his specific calling was to bring renewal to the church. Eventually he became the Executive Director of Lutheran Renewal Canada.
In 2002 he left congregational ministry and became a consultant in churches in Western Canada and in Southern California. As a consultant he helps congregations who are in transition as they move forward with new vision.
He and his wife Joan live in Stony Plain, Alberta. They have two children and six grandchildren. His passions are listening to Jesus through the Written Word and exploring new dimensions of worship.
