Twilight Musings: Reflections on a Life

Early in the twentieth century, my parents emigrated to Alberta from German colonies in Russia. They devoted themselves to building new lives here, and raising their children. They rarely talked about the past, and I seldom thought to ask. Then it was too late for such discussions.
My hope is that the various musings in this book will give our grandchildren and family some new insights into Papa Leo’s past, one that has been highly fulfilling for me. I recognize that it will be many years after I’m gone before such things will be of much interest. But thankfully, books are good at waiting until readers are ready.
