Bill Dogterom

Originally from Calgary, Alberta, BILL DOGTEROM moved to Edmonton to attend Northwest Bible College (now Vanguard College) in preparation for pastoral ministry. A serendipitous internship between second and third year introduced him to Albert Lindoff.

Pastor Lindoff was about to plant Evangel Pentecostal Assembly in Edmonton – which then became Bill’s home church and first placement as Minister of Youth and Music. It was there he met and married Judy.
Wanting further education to support a calling to higher education, Bill completed a BA at North American Baptist College (now Taylor Seminary) in preparation for graduate level work. At Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, Bill eventually earned both a Master’s of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree. Parallel to his education, Bill served first as Pastor of Youth and Music, and then as Senior Pastor, at Foothill Christian Center.

After 27 years of pastoral ministry at Foothill, Bill left in 2006 to continue in a full-time role at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa. He currently serves as Professor of Pastoral Ministries and Spiritual Formation, seeking to support women and men in lifetime ministry regardless of their vocation.

Since leaving the lead pastoral role, Bill has served on several pastoral teams and as an Interim Pastor. Bill and Judy have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and one granddaughter.
