Robert Ian Greidanus

Dr. Robert Greidanus was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He graduated from Edmonton Christian High School after which he attended The King’s College (now University) from 1987-1989. He was then accepted into medical school at the University of Alberta from where he graduated in 1993. Rob has been happily married to Alisa (nee Van Bergeyk) for almost 30 years and they have seven children, the youngest two having been adopted in Africa when Rob and Alisa were living there as volunteers working with Africa Inland Mission. For the last 25 years (when not in Africa) Rob has served the rural community of Peace River, Alberta, where he does full scope rural Family Medicine including Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics. He is also a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta and takes an active role in teaching medical students and Family Medicine residents. He is passionate about cross cultural medicine, International and Maternal health, being an advocate for justice, and promoting holistic healthcare. He enjoys adventures with his family, and various outdoor and sporting activities such as hockey, tennis, hiking, skiing, and hunting.
