RootUp Edmonton

We are a group of students from Edmonton who believe culture is what connects us, even in a time when everything feels distant. RootUP was founded with hopes to create a community that helps newcomers, such as immigrants and refugees, feel at home in a new environment while sharing their unique cultural identities with Edmonton’s mosaic. This sharing of cultures, stories, and experiences is at the heart of everything we do; through this work, we hope to play a part in building an even more connected city. RootUP’s mission is to help newcomers in Edmonton’s communities by acting as a liaison to resources, building connections between diverse communities through shared experiences, developing an appreciation and respect for the cultures in the community, and fostering opportunities for growth. Our vision is to foster an environment in Canada where cultures can grow through the impact of youth.
