Sue Paulson
Sue Paulson’s journey from a 10-year-old with knocking knees reciting poetry at church to becoming a transformational author and speaker embodies the very magnificence she teaches others to embrace.
A self-taught educator and best-selling author, Sue has dedicated over three decades to empowering others through the written and spoken word. She began teaching personal growth programs in her late twenties before expanding into corporate workshops throughout Alberta, specializing in stress reduction, conflict resolution, and team development.
From 1996 to 2011, Sue spent 15 years as a part-time instructor at MacEwan University, teaching business writing, public speaking, and study skills. Her expertise in communication led to her first best-selling book, Tips & Tools for Student Success (1999), followed by the award-winning Tips & Tools to Speak with Confidence โ Keys to Finding Your Voice (2003).
Sue’s life took a profound turn following a near-death experience in 2007 and her battles with cancer in 2011 and 2012. Rather than being defeated by these challenges, she emerged as a two-time cancer thriver with deeper wisdom about resilience and transformation. This journey inspired her best-selling memoir Magnificent Misery โ From Adversity to Ecstasy, first published in 2015 and relaunched in a second edition in 2022.
Drawing from her lived experiences with both triumph and adversity, Sue’s latest work, The Healing Call of Cancer (2024), offers a revolutionary holistic approach to cancer diagnosis and healing that addresses the mind, body, and soul connection.
In 2023, Sue co-founded Magnificence Lab, an online community for conscious individuals ready to step into their next evolution and budding Magnificence Mentors seeking to ignite magnificence in others. (https://magnificencelab.org) As co-host of the Magnificence Lab podcast, she engages in thought-provoking conversations about what it means to live magnificently in today’s world.
Sue’s passion remains unwavering: inspiring others to embrace their magnificent selves and create positive transformation in their lives and communities.
