Originally published in Iraq this novella is set in the atmosphere of the sectarian war experienced by the Iraqi people during the period 2006-08 under the American occupation of the country and the strife and bloody massacres against innocent people. It is the story of two young people; the first of whom is a university instructor of the Siite sect, the second is his Sunni student. Together they decide to confront that war with the weapon of love, to prove that love is stronger than sectarianism. They will triumph against evil, murder and destruction, but after they pay the cost. The author, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hindawi, is an Iraqi media personality and an assistant university professor, from the capital, Baghdad. He has published numerous journalistic and media works and writings. He lived through the war and has been able to document its tragedies and hopes in this literary work.
