Our grandparents have had some interesting adventures in their time, but have you ever heard Grandpa Went to Calgary in His Long-Johns?
Based on a “mostly” true story, in Grandpa Went to Calgary in His Long-Johns, author Chris K. Willmann writes about a grandpa’s interesting adventure during Covid-19.
Covid-19 has affected many families all around the world and while there’s so much information to take in, Canadians still do their best to make the most out of any situation, while staying safe. When Grandpa expressed he had a sore chest, the family was concerned it was Covid. Just finishing his 85th birthday, he feared the worst about his condition. Through all the commotion, he was well cared for by the doctors, nurses, and of course, family.
This is a relatable story with lots of sweet humor, and perfect for both kids and adults.
Excerpt from Grandpa Went to Calgary in His Long-Johns by Chris K. Willmann:
“The nurses at the hospital were excited to see Grandpa. The doctors were excited to see Grandpa. They were all very concerned about his health.
And suddenly Grandpa was lying on an examination table. His cowboy boots were on the floor and his favorite jeans were beside
them.
His jacket and shirt and his best vest were tossed on a chair near the door. His favorite hat stayed on his head because his head wasn’t sore, only his chest was.
His socks stayed on his feet because no one likes cold toes.”
