Sean McAnulty gifts us again with another masterpiece Grath the Noble Demon & Clive the Necromancer.

Grath is a demon affiliated with the sin of Pride. In his faction, he is second only to Lucifer. But when Lucifer commands him to collect tax information from every faction of Hell, Grath must obey. The demon who previously held the job has been mysteriously murdered, and Grath decides to investigate why.

While occupied with this mission, Grath is routinely called to Earth. He is summoned by human beings, desperate to make a deal with a demon. But Grath is not your typical demon, he has an unusual way of negotiating.

Grath has learned about humanity by spending time with his prisoner: the fallen angel Cassiel. These meetings are the closest a demon can get to interacting with heaven. Being a demon from Hell, Grath prides himself on being evil. But in his heart, he can’t help but be good.

Being a young man living in 1840s Britain, Clive has the appearance of a respectable gentleman. He is young, handsome, a good listener, and has a look to him that inspires natural trust. But Clive is secretly a cold-blooded and manipulative opportunist.

This can be useful in his line of work, though. Clive has the unique ability to speak to the recently deceased, and such conversations often necessitate a degree of cold, careful planning. There are worse things than Clive in this section of Britain, however.

A revenant has returned from death and is rampaging through Clive’s neighborhood, leaving mutilated corpses in its wake. Clive must use his skills in necromancy to figure out what caused the animation of this revenant, where the revenant can be found, and most importantly: How to best profit from this unusual situation.
