I understand we normally communicate with words. God did not provide a complete message through the prophets of old. He intended to express himself to us through his son. A son in the natural world looks similar to his father. The understanding here is that this man Jesus looks exactly the same as his father. His father has not held back anything from him.
When we look at this man Jesus, we see the Father. He enabled us to see what we could not otherwise see. We cannot see God, because we live in the natural world. We are able to see a man though, and this man looks just like his father. We do not know anything about God apart from his Son. All the fullness of God lives in the Son.
I will push forward the understanding that the word of God arrived in the form of the man Jesus.
