Book of I PETER In the book of I Peter Jesus addresses His people who are being persecuted for their faith in Him as the Risen Lord . Since sin dominates much of the world, Christians are often alienated from the community in which they are located in spite of the good they may do in that community. It is Jesusโ desire to encourage and support people who are persecuted. Jesusโ own death and resurrection and promise of His return gives hope to those who suffer. Jesus encourages His people to live a victorious life. Book of II PETER In the second book of Peter Jesus addresses people around the world so they may know the truth of His message. He warns people of false teachers and points out the immorality which results from such teachings. Jesus shares that one of the targets of these false teachers is the denial of His return. They base this on the fact that it has taken so long to come about. It is Jesusโ desire that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
