Each of these stories is like an espresso: to be sipped slowly, just one at a sitting. Of necessity, each story is a precis of the interview. Much of the reported speech has been changed to direct speech. The names of the 21 contributors are given on page 366. The stories are presented in the first person to facilitate involvement. All are true; the time and place of each is given. A copy of Knowing God Personally can be found on pp.367-373. The stories may serve at least four purposes: 1. Icons – they’re stand-out reminders of who God is, and why Jesus came into the world. 2. Case Studies – if you’re involved in ministry, you’ll learn something from each and every story. 3. News – each story relates the Good News, and reminds us that biblical regeneration is still a reality; repentance and acceptance result in eternal life. 4. Proofs – the preaching of the Good News (1st Corinthians 15:3-8) to people willing to listen is relevant, appealing and effective; far more so than dialogue, debate or discussion. Every New Believer will connect with a church of his/her choice at a time best suited to him/her. The best any preacher can do is to facilitate this.
