No More Fences is very much like real lifeโthe family farm is disappearing, the kids move away, the fences are rolled up, and the livestock sold. A few critters remain; most donโt require fences, like Sebastian, the little horse who thinks heโs a dog. Then there are the whistling ratsโtheyโre so darn cuteโunlike the hordes of mice that come down in a โmouse stormโ! The old hip-roof barn can tell many tales, like how itโs nearly impossible to get a cow down from the hayloft. The coulee seems like a great place to hold a wedding; Mother Nature though, has a way of ruining things with vultures and flying table cloths, just to name a few ill-winds.
Lori Feldbergโs fictitious character, Lottie, is a bit like a female version of Dan Needlesโ well known character, Walt Wingfield . . . Her love, pragmatism, resiliency, and the ability to take what looks like a sowโs ear and turn it into some kind of a silk purse will endear her to readers.

Lori Feldberg is a consummate story teller, relating true events with humor and flair. She draws on her rural experiences from her Canadian home, as well as from farming encounters abroad.
