YOUTH CALLED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The ‘New Generation Prayer Team’ was formed at the onset of the 2006 school year, at the request of junior high students who felt a call from God to gather to pray. For this young team, learning to hear the voice of God, obey His call and serve Him, has impacted all they have done, from prayer and outreach in their community and province, to the nation’s capital and Canada’s far north regions. Many initiatives would be carried out in the days to come as they prayed and reached out beyond the borders of their school. We read in Daniel 11:32 (ampc) of this ‘new generation’ where it says, “… The people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits (for God).” For the Youth Called To Make A Difference, God’s grace and empowering presence were there for them. What adventures lay ahead! This is their story…
Elaine and her husband Ray, have been married 47 years and have 3 married daughters and 5 grandchildren. They presently pastor New Destiny Church, ministering in Edmonton’s urban center. Ordained, Elaine holds her license with the Ministers Network of Canada. In 2004, she began working at Fort Saskatchewan Christian School as an Educational Assistant. As she became more directly involved with the student’s spiritual growth, she took on the role of School Chaplain. She particularly enjoyed hosting prayer teams, and carrying out prayer and outreach initiatives in the community, province and nation. Elaine filled that role until retiring in 2020, but continues to teach children to pray, and hear the voice of God.
