Written as a series of adventures, in Adventures of the Imaginary Brothers 2, Hungry and his best friends, River and Feather, continue their exploits from their adventure-inducing tree house. Hungryโs friends talk him into doing things he ought not to do such as, burning down an old farm house and jumping off bridges. Plus, thanks to their new gift, a bicycle, their playground expands to include the local river and the bridges that cross it.
Excerpt from Adventures of the Imaginary Brothers 2:
โOur club meets at a tree house on Hungryโs farm. River and me live there because weโre not allowed to hang out with Hungry when heโs around other Reals, mostly his family. They think heโs weird and say he talks to himself. Thatโs a lie, because heโs talking to me and River. How could a person talk to himself?
Hungry doesnโt have many Real friends. Itโs because heโs a scaredy cat, as shy as a dainty flower. Me and River treat him kindlier than any Reals do. Heโd have more Real friends if he tried. His mom tries to find him friends but she keeps picking stupid kids with no imagination. River and me donโt have a mom because we donโt need one. If I did have a mom, I wouldnโt listen to her. River probably would because heโs a goody-goody.
When we voted, I made those two say they would accept anything I wrote and they did. I told them Iโd kick them in the knees or pee in their ears if they changed their minds. River, that crybaby, would cry, and Hungry would tell me to stop.
Hungry knows other Imaginarys. He has a whole baseball team but only for when he plays that senseless game. Misser, the catcher, is horrible and ugly and scary.โ
