THE LITTLE BOY AND THE CHUBBY LADY contains thirty-six marvelous poems. This entertaining collection is written in a delightfully whimsical manner, which displays the insight and zany sense of humour of the author. Although the book is geared to upper elementary and junior high school, people of all ages will be amused by these mostly wacky poems.
Gonda Bres-Bosscher is a globetrotting retired teacher. She lived through the war in the Netherlands; her parents divorced when she was young; in 1965 she became a Canadian citizen. Gonda writes mostly funny poems, inspired by the actions, thoughts and experiences of her own children, grandchildren and those in her extended family. They all consented graciously to let her wax poetically about them. THE LITTLE BOY AND THE CHUBBY LADY is Gonda’s first book.
