Description
An excerpt from Urban Mission:
PRAYING THE OPPOSITE โ is praying for change and that Godโs Kingdom rule and reign will come into peopleโs lives and situations. What we see around us with our natural eyes, the sin and consequences of sin, can give us a prayer clue. Just as an investigator looks for clues to solve a crime, so we look for clues to determine what God wants us to pray about. We are called to pray, see situations turn around and chaotic things come to order. We are called to share the gospel, so people can come to Christ.
What do we see when we look at peopleโs faces?
Do people look lonely, afraid, angry, sad, hopeless or sick?
PRAY THE OPPOSITE: for peace, love, joy, hope, and healing. What do we see when we look around at the streets?
Do we see darkness, temporary shelters, dirt, trash, things old, and things that are broken, on the streets?
Do we see evidence of substance abuse and addictions or people engaged in violent behaviours on the streets?
PRAY THE OPPOSITE: for light, shelter, food, clean streets, people to be free from addictions, drug dealers to be apprehended, and for calm and peace. If you are uncertain about what to pray for, pray for the things you know that Jesus wants for people.
