Lisa feels that through her mental illness, she has found her writing voice. Her poetry can evoke both an emotional reaction as well as a thoughtful one. She writes with a purpose to contribute to the literary world. She always aims to find the perfect word, for both her Haikus and poetry. With this book, she aims to open the readers mind to new ideas, engage with them, and inspire others to begin their own writing journey.
Excerpt from What’s in my Head by Lisa Anderson:
Play on Words
“I don my clothes at dawn
we could meet at the meat market
the sun is beaming on my son
tie a knot loose it is not
so you like to sew?
I can’t wait to go to the gym I need to lift some weight
I don’t want to waste it, but I don’t want to add to my waist either I see the stormy sea
the southern Belle rang the bell”
