In Western Canada in the ’40s and ’50s, 70% of kids grew up in small prairie towns. These towns had loosely enforced but definite standards for morality, truth and honesty. Among other personal traits, these developed in a Disney Land type atmosphere.
Kids were allowed to build their own fun atmosphere from the ideas and resources available. The results were a rollicking, joyful, non stop smorgasbord of activities.
After reading Mischief at its Best, those who did not grow up in the ’40s and ’50s will wish they had.
